Self-Image in the Image of God

    God  created man -male and female- in his own image. What an awesome reality that is. There I am in the first chapter of the bible- a woman- distinguished from animals, distinguished from my male counterpart, and literally created in the image of God. Certainly womanhood was no afterthought with God, and it was through the creation of both male and female that God has offered his fullest self-revelation.

    If somehow in our imagination we are able to recreate all the qualities of perfect man and perfect woman in one being, we have, perhaps, a faint hint of who God really is. And, as we reflect on who God is, we see a picture of the image we carry in ourselves individually.

   Unfortunately, that image of God often bears virtually no resemblance to our own self-image. The reason for that, according to many Christian counselors, is because many of us suffer from a low self-image. But how can our self-image be low when we contemplate the image of God in which we were created? Personally, I find that my self-esteem is lowest when I am least reflecting the image of God. Indeed, my self-esteem has very little to do with the ego-boosting gratification that comes with awards, promotions, bonuses, and new clothes. These are the temporary"uppers" of the "me--generation," but they are not what builds a healthy self-image.

   I feel best about myself, not when I read a flattering review of one of my books or when I am wearing a new outfit, but when I have selflessly reached out to someone in need and given with no thought of reward- or of self. It is only when my self is submerged that God's image begins to shine forth. Then I have a healthy self-image that truly reflects God's image.

4.) Learning to compromise is important- take time out to think things through- brainstorm.


5.) To survive in the world we need people skills- getting along with others is vital!

When Dealing with Negative People

      

There are a lot of negative people around us everyday!It doesn't matter where you go, or who you're with. They are there. Most people be negative towards you because u give off a negative vibe. When you give off that vibe, they feed off of it to PISS u off! We all get pissed off. Sometimes it can be the little petty stuff that make us go off more than anything. People can say really dumb shit, talk about you behind your back while smiling in ur face, find out that your so-called friends are just using you for the shit that they don't have, realize that you've been played by your boyfriend, and e.t.c. All those factors can PISS up off... You have to be the BIGGER person to handle it the appropriate way. There are many ways to handle these situations, but i just smile :-) and let the Lord handle my battles!!!

Should I stay or should I leave

   Most men want you to stay with them when they know they are doing you wrong. Telling you that they are going to treat you better, and do right by you knowing that they are just lying so you can still be there for them for whatever the reason maybe.
  
    It's sad that women have to get tired, and fed up with the treatment that their men are giving them, and leave because they can't take it anymore. It is then, at that point, that men take you seriously rather than taking you for granted. They realize that you are not going to take their crap anymore, and want you to stay by their side.

Giving It All Some Thought

 

Well, here I am two years later, almost to the date  from my first article on “Say What’s on Your Mind!”

No I have not seen the man of after twenty years together, and he who broke my heart, but I still think of what I should have said when I had the chance. I go through moments and sometimes hours of making up my speech for when I do, if ever, I see him again. And then after I have completed my thoughts, I get the thoughts of: He doesn’t deserve

My time, and How could I ever think I could forgive him? I never will ever forgive him, I just miss him. He broke my heart and someone who is as strong as a mighty Oak, I have faced my limits and I can’t strongly enough stress how much you need to “SAY WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND” when you are dealing with your love, relationships and each other.

Don’t be like me or think you could never be like me ... I would never have thought I would be regretting to say what was clearly on my mind and in my heart until two years ago and still regarding this same matter, still today.

Think things through, take all the time you may need to be absolutely positive you are saying what you truly feel. One never knows, maybe you won’t be looking back. Good luck to you all and take the words from a female who wished someone just gave me this simple advice. When you are in the midst of turmoil in a relationship, stop, and think.
 Write a list of all the things that you need to have answered or cleared up and maybe, just maybe you will be surprised and get honesty and closure if this is what you seek.
